Devon County Council has confirmed that its 2026 Surface Dressing Programme will take place between May and September 2026, covering a number of roads across Teignbridge and neighbouring districts.

Surface dressing is part of the County Council’s routine highway maintenance programme. It helps extend the life of the road surface, improves skid resistance, and reduces the need for more disruptive repairs in future years.

What residents can expect
Each affected road will require a short closure, typically 1–3 days, to allow works to be completed safely.

Closures may occur on consecutive days, but timings can vary depending on weather conditions and preparatory works such as patching, cleaning, or road marking.

Advance warning signs will be placed at each location at least seven days before work begins.

Diversion routes will be signposted, and live updates will be available on one.network.

Local impact
As part of the 2026 programme, Devon County Council has included the road past Sloncombe Farm (TQ13 8QF) in its planned surface dressing works.

Further information
Full details of the programme, including the list of affected roads and the process used, are included in the official DCC leaflets attached to this article.

Residents can also find wider information about surface dressing on the Devon County Council website.
