Moretonhampstead Parish Council is the first tier of local government and the one closest to the community, serving Moretonhampstead’s residents, businesses and visitors. Moretonhampstead Parish Council has reiterated concerns over the timing of the A382 summer closure and is urging Devon County Council to reconsider the dates, improve communication, and take all possible steps to reduce the impact on residents, businesses and visitors.
Contractors have confirmed that works on the B3212 will now finish on 22 May, following delays caused by weather, difficult ground conditions, and the need to work around extensive scaffolding. Additional drainage and resurfacing improvements are also being completed.
Devon County Council will carry out surface dressing and associated works across Teignbridge between May and September 2026. Roads will close for short periods, with advance warning signs placed locally. Full details are available in the attached DCC leaflets.
