The UK’s old copper landline network is being switched off by January 2027, with some areas already beginning the transition. While many households will move over smoothly, others—particularly those who rely on telecare alarms, medical devices, burglar alarms, or who do not use a mobile phone—may need to check that their equipment will continue to work safely.
