B3212 Road Closure – Update from the Contractor
The contractor has confirmed that the ongoing works on the B3212 are now scheduled for completion on 22 May. This revised date reflects several challenges encountered on site over recent weeks.
The extension has been attributed to a combination of factors, including the need to work around extensive scaffolding positioned along the edge of the embankment, earlier delays to piling works caused by poor weather, and the discovery that the underlying bedrock was significantly harder than expected.
Devon County Council is also using the closure period to carry out drainage improvements and complete an additional section of resurfacing along this stretch. These activities are being undertaken alongside the main works to ensure they do not create any further disruption later in the year.
The contractor has provided a set of general site photographs to give residents a clearer sense of the progress being made.
Devon County Council thanks residents, businesses, and road users for their continued patience while these essential safety works are brought to completion.
