Moretonhampstead enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of festive cheer on Saturday as the annual Christmas Lights Switch-On and Market took place in the town centre.

After many months of planning, it was fantastic to see residents and visitors come together to enjoy an afternoon filled with music, stalls, and seasonal celebrations. The Christmas tree and lights will now brighten the town throughout December for everyone to enjoy.
The Parish Council would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to making the event a success:
-
Our dedicated volunteers, whose hard work ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
-
Baskervilles, for generously donating the town’s Christmas tree.
-
BNC Electrical, for decorating the tree and installing the festive lights.
-
CP Tree Services, for arranging the arrival of Father Christmas and his elves.
-
The traders, for bringing a fantastic array of stalls to the market.
-
The musicians and performers, who provided entertainment throughout the afternoon.
-
Thompsons Devon, for loaning a vehicle to support the road closure.
-
Teignbridge District Council, for offering free parking in the town car parks during the event and helping support attendance.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event — your involvement helps keep this much-loved community tradition alive.
